November 16, 2015

Waiting for some recent converts to get changed to go teach them in the chapel.

Laying on the ground.... In the street.... I got sick again haha, only through out the night and up till about mid day, so it wasn't as bad as last time, but it was pretty much exactly the same thing. The usual. The members are like "when are you not sick" hahaha. Its all good, it's worth it!

Fun to hear about SCHS football and the family and all the friends!! Time flies right? This was a cool week. A couple got baptized from the other Elders in our ward, Elder Quada and Elder Romero. They each baptized one of them. It was cool to see him going out baptizing. Elder Romero finishes his mission today. It was a cool way to finish his mission.

Our district is super fun. We had a great transfer and really have been working so hard. We will have a lot of baptisms in December, all of the new years resolutions are going to be "Stay Pure" haha. Our investigator who is missing one leg, came to church this week, he was super happy that they finally fixed the elevator in the chapel. (I know, how crazy right, we have an elevator) he kept making the joke "they finally paid the electricity bill" haha. He is a cool dude, he really enjoyed the classes and being with the high priests. We have two new really great investigators. They have come to church 2 times now and they are so awesome! They have been members of a local church for a long time and know so much about the Bible, and now that they have learned about the Restoration it all makes so much since to them and they already look like active members haha. They have a baptism date for the first week of December if everything goes well! :)

Its been a great few months with Elder Montoya! We have been a great companionship. Today there are transfers, I have no clue whats going to happen! Ill let you guys know who my new comp is next week :) Everything is going so good! Im just trying to take advantage of every single moment! Before we know its already Christmas and I have 6 months til I'm home! Wow! I love you so much!! Thanks for everything! Have an awesome week!

September 21, 2015

It was an awesome week! I got sick on Friday night and I was down all Saturday and half of Sunday. I went to church, everyone said I looked super white. I was like, don't you know me already? I'm white haha. But yeah I was pretty weak, and couldn't walk very well, I just had to rest a lot. I stayed with our ward mission leader, and my companion went out to visit all the people with another youth that is preparing for the mission. It was fun, the family took care of me, they gave me some herbal tea, and I took the pills that the mission doctor told me to take and with a Priesthood blessing I was better in no time. Being sick is the worst haha. but it really helps you to be more grateful for everything you have. I was really grateful for the help of everyone and for the great blessings that I have in my life. This week we got to meet Elder Godoy, he is a 70, he is super cool (Elder Carlos A Godoy).  We learned a lot from him. First he had a reunion with all of the leaders and then a reunion with the whole mission! it was awesome we learned a ton! It was a great week! Love you so much! You're amazing!!

March 23, 2015

Well the members are awesome here. I had an amazing birthday week. Tuesday I stayed in my area and one of my zone leaders came to do a division, We got so much food and soda from a bunch of people, we contacted basically the whole day up in this one hill side it was super fun, We also had a lesson with a family (N&J) who had us over and gave us cake and more soda, we had a fun time. Wednesday I was sick all day though cause we ate so much haha, I think what really did it though were the big natural fruit Popsicle, you never know if the water they used to make is clean haha. So yeah I was in bed all day Wednesday but Thursday (my birthday) I felt way better and we were able to leave and work really good.

My birthday was fun. We worked just like any normal day, contacting people, teaching, livin it up. But in the night we had a little get together with some of the ward members that are my good friends. And guess what, me and F have the exact same birthday. So we invited him to come over too it was way cool, We had a small spiritual thought, some games, and cake! They didn't throw eggs at us but they did shove my face in the cake, and then I shoved F's face in the cake haha it was funny. Yep it was a good time. It was a really successful week too. Although we lost a day of proselyting we still got to the minimum of the goals we set and exceeded a lot of them. This Ward has changed so much its amazing, everyone is going out on their visits, doing their parts as members and its just super cool to see the progress and also to be able to be a part of it. Two are leaving this week on their missions, one is A she is awesome, she is one of my best friends in this ward who always helps us, goes on lessons. and is way good at being a friend to our investigators. The other is E, we don't see much but he is cool and they both leave tomorrow so we are having a little get together like what we did for me where everyone comes to say goodbye you know?
I'm losing some of my English haha sometimes I forget what things are called. Everything is going super well, me and my comp are super happy together, we are working hard, we don't have a whole lot of free time, even less now being district leader, but when there is a little time before bed we like to play chess and checkers haha. He has never won but its still way fun. I am enjoying my time and loving everyone, super happy, super chill, everything is going great, and I hope the same for you too! Love you!

A Spiritual thought from from my MTC teacher

Mathew 11:28-30

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I ammeek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light

Thinking in this scripture, I would like to highlight the importance of the yoke. The yoke is a tool which enables two oxen to work together to do certain action in the field. Here in this scripture, Christ is inviting us to come to Him and He says take my yoke because is easy and its burden is light. How can we do the burden can be esay. Sometimes we feel like our burden are the haviest in the world, but as we work hand by hand to he lord we´ll be able to make light our burden. When two owen have the same yoke they need towork as a team because when they don´t do it causes the other have even more weight. There is a story which says. There was a competition where oxen from all the world long came to compete. The competition was which of all of this oxen would be able to plow a field in less time. Many oxen were big and others very trained for this task, but at the end the lesser big oxen were who won. Everybody asked why? if those were literally a monster. The fact was these couple of oxen have been learned to work as a team, better than any others.

To be a team makes the difference. Being a team with our companion, being a team with the Holy Ghost, and being a team with Christ. This is the only way how are burden can be light and is the only way how your investigators will be able to leave their burden. I know this is true and I testify of this in the sacred name of Jesus Christ our savior, amen.

July 30, 2014

Hi- Thanks for the pic of my room, so I kind of felt bad leaving my room really messy but I know you secretly enjoy cleaning it. So I hope you had fun and it gave you something to do :) haha
Tell Dave thank you so much for feeding my snake! Also tell him I have been playing a lot of volleyball here, and thank you for teaching me everything I know.

II didn't realize how big of a deal tie trading and stuff was but I could use some more ties,  Christmas present maybe ;) also one of my pairs of pants ripped (the ones I’ve had since Sophomore year) but its okay cause an Elder in my district can fix them. But I'm going to buy some new suits when I get to Peru!

The MTC is super fun and awesome, but I'm excited to get into the field because I have a feeling that it will be 10x better! I got a package from Anne this week the Elders in my casa were so mad :) but I shared it was all good. Thank you all!!!!   Count your many blessings! I love you guys so much! Even Alex! Oh and funny story, we had to make a profile to be an investigator for other missionaries to practice on us so I used Jordan as my investigator haha.

Glad you ate at Remunds, Tell Sherri since she forgot a golden word for my farewell she could give me one for my homecoming.

Grandpa sends me quotes each week and the one he sent this week we actually had a devotional on the other day and we watched a video of Elder Holland, he talked about the Preach My Gospel book and told us "notice how it says Preach 'My' Gospel, not your Gospel, the Lord's Gospel" I know this is his Gospel and the true Gospel and I'm so excited to take the things I've learned here out to the real world! I miss and love Grandpa!

So I got the sickness thats going around here the other night and it was super fun! :D I had to sleep on my bathroom floor for a few hours :) even laying on the floor I wasn't discouraged, I was like, wow I feel like crap but seriously is that it, there is no way I'm going to let this get me down. I got about 3 hours of sleep that night but I still went to work the next day at 6.30 learning spanish and the gospel going hard all dang day. I love and miss all of my family and friends but I'm here for a purpose and I'm not coming home till that purpose is fulfilled.

I challenge you and Bubby to share your testimonies this week :)  Oh hey let the Wade's know I met Emily! She is super nice and cool!

Love you talk to you again soon, Love you!!
