This was an amazing week. I love my trainer Elder Balderrama, since day one we have been working together and even up until now we are seeing miracles together, even though he is already home haha. He made a huge influence here in vitarte when he was here in this same area almost 6 months ago. One of his most faithful converts was a nice older lady who was baptized in October. She was diagnosed with cancer just a little bit before she was baptized but continued faithful to God and to the church every single week by attending, and enduring. Mid December she became very week and was put into the hospital. She kept fighting but eventually the cancer beat her and she passed away towards the end of January. During this whole process of learning from the missionaries, her baptsim, and her endurance to the end, her two daughters and grandson were always there supporting her, but never felt so strongly the need to make the actual commitment for them selves. They had a mighty change of heart at the passing of their mom. The older daughter changed other commitments that had been occuring on Sundays so that she could be able to attend with her son, and the younger daughter who was taking extra classes on Sundays dropped them completely to complete with her moms desires that she attends church as well. They saw the need to put their lives in harmony with Gods will, and chose to humble their hearts by following not only the footsteps of their mother, but also the footsteps of the Savior. They received us in their home, they completed with their reading assignments, and they accepted the challenge to be baptized. This weekend the three of them were able to complete with that duty to God and received the remission of their sins through the sacred ordnance of baptism. They are such an inspiration, and such an amazing example of faith in trusting the ways of the lord, and in trusting in his timing. The Lord knows his children, and he knows who he sends to teach them. It has been such an honor to work with this family and it has been so special to work side by side once again with my trainer Elder Balderrama.

To answer your question (mom).....On a scale of 1 to 10 how do I feel today. 10! I feel great! Seriously. The doctor told me that I should be up and walking (with out a back pack of course) but walking everyday. The same day I got out of the hospital we were already out and teaching that afternoon. I was hurting, and really sore, but although my body hurt, my radiant smile was still working. :) haha it was tough going in the buses an stuff but I was able to trust in the Lord and I know he has been strengthening me. There are people going through worse and Im grateful for the blessing to brighten up their days. We had an amazing week! Although we lost some working time due to the hospital, interviews with president, and stake conference, we were still able to contact 79 people, teach 24 lessons, and find 10 new investigators this week!

Picture is of my last day there in Moyopampa.
We had a little family night there in the church to say goodbye. What we did in the week was all that I had told you the week before that we were going to do. Christmas party as a mission, we went to a buffet, and had a talent show, then watched a new movie Big Heros. Then we had dinner with a family Christmas Eve and Christmas night (because the pension left haha) it all turned out awesome and beautiful. We had the lunch as a zone and we had the baptisms! Then christmas night we watched the fire works go off at midnight (they light fire works here on christmas and new years) and after that we opened some presents. We got the transfers on Monday morning, we printed off some pictures to give out to families and packed, and yeah it all went great.

June 8, 2015

We had transfers this week! My old companion was called to be a zone leader in Campoy! I'm so stoked for him! He has an amazing story, when he was 9 his mom died of an illness, and when he was 12 his dad died of a heart attack. He has 3 older brothers and the 4 of them took each other of them selves alone working hard. With time the 4 of them were baptized and he says the Faith in God and the blessings are what kept them alive. He being the youngest of the 4 reached the age to be able to leave on the mission and they made the choice to leave together, they sold the house and almost everything they had, and 3 of the 4 brothers left for the mission the same day, one to Chile, and the other two to different places in Peru.

When we were put together as companions, he was at a hard time in the mission, he had 19 months and was a little depressed and confused. The two of us were able to work together and forget about our selves and put all of our efforts towards the work of God, We really had lots of trials like not having a Ward Mission leader the whole transfer, having very difficult leaders and other problems in the ward, and in many occasions we came back just exhausted from climbing the hills all day long, but we were able to follow the guidance of the Spirit and give it everything we had and I can tell you that we literally saw miracles from God. This last transfer was the fire that we needed, to mold and shape us into the kind of missionaries the God needs. My companion left being a Zone Leader and I stayed here and Im now the District Leader and I am also training again.

And now I want to tell you my second son and new companion Elder Granda from Ecuador is also the best! His testimony has truly inspired me. Our area lives up to its name "Las Lomas" the hills, and more hills. He is a guy with a little more weight, not the best physique but he climbs those hills like an animal. He has to wait for a while at the top to catch his breath but every time we climb I love what he says to him self, "Its all for the Lord, its all for the Lord, these people need me." Its such a blessing to see a young missionary with such motivation and to know that God is trusting in me to help mold this excitement that he has and make him into a great missionary and servant of God to keep changing the lives of others through the spirit and his sweet and true testimony.

We are now working with our recent converts to be able to bring them to the Temple! The Temple is the Goal! Never forget it. Families can be together forever!

This was an amazing week!! Another amazing week I should say, because every week is amazing here! Amazing in every way you could think of. Amazing experiences, amazing sights, amazing differences, amazing people, amazing miracles.

We had another baptism this week. E, she is the best!!! She is 24 haha even though she doesn't look like it. She has been meeting with the missionaries for almost 4 months and has always come to church but never wanted to get baptized because her whole family is catholic and just so much pressure, but we were really able to be guided by the spirit to say exactly what she needed to here to give her the strength to take this leap of faith and truly trust in God 100% and the biggest influence against her baptism was her Mom, but guess who came to watch her, thats right, her mom. If you trust in the spirit, he will guide you. Live worthy, show him that you deserve his guidance and it will come.

I feel like the Book of Mormon prophets writing in the Gold Plates saying "And hundreds of other things happened that we can not reveal" because so much happens every week and I cant tell you everything haha, just know that the work is amazing, my Paraguayan companion is awesome (he is as old as Alex by the way) and that we are super feliz ;)

The Ward is the best and the work is progressing! Like I told you, this Ward has lots of difficulties, so what we have been really focusing on is the attitude! Attitude determines everything!! Grandpa just sent me a quote by President Thomas S. Monson that says "So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference." Its so true!!! I was so inspired by the story of the rugby state championship (we emailed him the story from  May 13, 2015 The Spectrum http://www.thespectrum.com/story/sports/high-school/2015/05/10/warrior-rugby-plays-herriman-state-title/27076169/ ) , we (SCHS Rugby Team) have never been the biggest, we have never had the most amazing athletes, but what makes all the difference is the Heart. The attitude and the will we have to go out and win no matter what the circumstances! 2 Nephi 2:11 it is necessary an opposition in all things! Face them with a great attitude and see the difference!

Love you so much! Keep Enduring! Have an amazing week!

Another amazing week! We had 2 baptisms!! He is 18 we have been working with him since January and he is great! I got to baptisms him in the morning, and then in the night time we had another baptism. He is 21 and just barely got married to a member in our ward this week and got baptized on Saturday then had the reception right after the baptism in the gym of the church! Those are the coolest kinds of baptisms when they get married and baptized because its soo cool to be able to go through that process with them! It was a week full of hard hard work. We had to do so much and it was super stressful at times, but we were faithful, we worked hard, and we were able to reap what we had sewn. Awesome awesome week.

There are transfers today and Im not sure if Im leaving or if I'm staying haha but either way Id be happy. I go where you want me to go dear Lord (or stay where you want me to stay) this has been a cool transfer my Comp is super chill and its been cool being able to training him. If we stay together, awesome. If not no worries. I love every experience that I am gaining on the mission. I love Peru its awesome. My zone is sweet and I have made so many friends. My pension and her family are the BEST , they all love me so much and me too for them. Every night that we come back for dinner they are always there and its like coming home to my family haha they are all so great. La mamita Estella loves the missionaries so much and she does soo much for us. We told her that there are transfers and that I might be leaving or staying. But she started to cry saying she doesn't want me to leave. I love her so much.

The mission is such a great time. I'm loving every day, every experience, good and bad. I am growing so much and just having the time of my life. I don't know where the next transfer will bring me but I know that I'm in Gods hands and I trust in him 100%. Faith is the most important thing you can have, with faith nothing is impossible. I love you guys so much and I invite you to have EVEN MORE FAITH. If you think you have faith have even more and you will see the blessings and the miracles. I love you guys sooo much!

January 26, 2015

You guys are awesome. I love you so much! I've been thinking a lot and this life really is a test. We are sent here to be tested and tried and over come them, many fall, but those who keep strong are the ones that receive all of the blessings that God really does have for us. In a way, its kind of a thinning out of the week and the strong, God has great things in store for us, but only those who really do endure to the end can obtain all that he has in store for us. There is a lot more that I have been thinking this is just a small part. But I know that the Plan of Salvation is true and how important the Atonement of Jesus Christ is in our lives. More than anything we are here to test our FAITH.

Everything is going so great right now, we are truly teaching people right now who have been prepared and humbled to accept and understand this message and we have 4 people who have baptismal dates for this month of February, and also 4 or 5 others who are close to having a baptismal date too. I know that these things are true and really are of God, and I am so happy to help others know these things too!
Love you guys! Have an amazing week! Don't forget your prayers and to read your scriptures!

Oh and Ive got transfers tomorrow! I'll let you guys know haha, Im pretty sure I'm staying here in Villa Hermosa (beautiful village)
