This was an amazing week. I love my trainer Elder Balderrama, since day one we have been working together and even up until now we are seeing miracles together, even though he is already home haha. He made a huge influence here in vitarte when he was here in this same area almost 6 months ago. One of his most faithful converts was a nice older lady who was baptized in October. She was diagnosed with cancer just a little bit before she was baptized but continued faithful to God and to the church every single week by attending, and enduring. Mid December she became very week and was put into the hospital. She kept fighting but eventually the cancer beat her and she passed away towards the end of January. During this whole process of learning from the missionaries, her baptsim, and her endurance to the end, her two daughters and grandson were always there supporting her, but never felt so strongly the need to make the actual commitment for them selves. They had a mighty change of heart at the passing of their mom. The older daughter changed other commitments that had been occuring on Sundays so that she could be able to attend with her son, and the younger daughter who was taking extra classes on Sundays dropped them completely to complete with her moms desires that she attends church as well. They saw the need to put their lives in harmony with Gods will, and chose to humble their hearts by following not only the footsteps of their mother, but also the footsteps of the Savior. They received us in their home, they completed with their reading assignments, and they accepted the challenge to be baptized. This weekend the three of them were able to complete with that duty to God and received the remission of their sins through the sacred ordnance of baptism. They are such an inspiration, and such an amazing example of faith in trusting the ways of the lord, and in trusting in his timing. The Lord knows his children, and he knows who he sends to teach them. It has been such an honor to work with this family and it has been so special to work side by side once again with my trainer Elder Balderrama.

We had a lot of great experiences this week. Im so so tired, but its so worth it. We are working with some amazing families and wow contacting hard, asking everyone for references, and finding lots of people to teach. Its like trying to catch water in your hands, its so hard to keep track of ALL that is going on. The only way possible is trusting in God with 100% faith in him!! I love you! Have an amazing week!

I didn't even really realize that it was Valentines day yesterday. Its really sad, but almost every holiday or any event is just an excuse to drink here. There are so many great, amazing, sincere people here. But there are also many who don't appreciate the greatness of the lives that God has given us. Its something that makes my calling harder, but at the same time even more necessary.
My new companion Elder Carter is awesome. We are very similar, we started out working really hard this week and we have seen quite a few miracles, and we have met some great investigators with potential to progress. We taught our first zone meeting together on Thursday, just two days days after we were put together. We had to trust a lot in the spirit to guide our words and help them motivate the elders in our zone. The whole focus was on Jesus Christ. We broke it up in to parts, the first part was a training on how we can teach more like Jesus Christ, and the importance it is to testify of him in every single lesson. Then in the second part we focused on the Atonement, and how it can really carry us in our missions. We based it on a talk by David A. Bednar that Sister Jackman sent me almost a year ago that talks about the redeeming power of the Atonement, and also the enabling power of the Atonement. It really did turn out perfect and we felt the spirit very strongly.
Thanks for all of the great news! I love you guys so much and I am always so happy to see all of the great experiences, and all of the success that you are achieving. As we put Jesus Christ at the center of our lives we'll see how every thing else finds its perfect place, and others that we don't need will eventually fall out of our lives completely. Trust in him, and have even MORE faith!

It was an awesome week! We went and played soccer and rugby at this little field in the middle of no where! We did a multi zone and got to play against Elder Jolley whos the zone leader in Chaclacayo.
We were able to work with J and her family this month to be able to help some of them reactivate and feel the spirit and her mom asked her if she wanted to be baptized so we started teaching her. She shared in her little testimony that ever since her mom told her that she just felt something so special in her heart that she needed to do it. It has been a blessing to know their family :)
So the week started out great with a fun p day, playing soccer and a little bit of rugby. Then we were able to work really hard to the last moment, Elder Golden already knew he was going to be transferred but he kept working hard this week and we were able to find some great part member families to rescue the members and baptize who hasn't received that blessing yet :) Its my favorite way to work :)
We received the transfers today! Im staying here in Vitarte and my new companion is named Elder Carter, from Idaho! So this is his first time being a zone leader, its going to be fun to teach him everything that I just barely got out of learning haha. We´ll see how this goes!! Its going to be awesome!! :) I am very confident that we are going to have a great transfer and I know that we are going to meet every one of our goals. It is necessary to be confident, but not in your self, in the Lord. This transfer will be 7 weeks long instead of the normal 6! I will keep you up on the details!! Love you!! Have an amazing week!

A few weeks ago the Elders from the CCM came to do splits with the Elders in the field. We went over to another ward in the zone and I went with an Elder from Peru who was just in the mission a week and a half haha. We went around with a list contacting investigators and finding less actives for a few hours (just a day activity). We knocked a door looking for an old investigator there and her sister came out. She told us that her sister wasn't home but that she was really interested in what we do because every time her kids see missionaries they point at us and ask her what we do haha. So she was like, what do you guys do so I can tell my kids? We talked a little bit at the door and she invited us to come in and share a small message, we talked about the book of mormon and then asked her to read just the first paragraph of the introduction she didn't want to stop and read the whole thing haha. She thought it was amazing and told us about how she is Catholic, but how she has seen a lot of things that she doesn't think are right. We gave her the Book of Mormon and a pamphlet of the restoration and she was excited for the elders to come back and visit her. So we left super happy and excited that she was so cool and we told the elders from her area that they had to go back and visit her this week. So the next week, we ended up doing divisions and I went back to that same ward, they had a visit with the same woman that I had found the other week! It was so cool that I was able to teach her again!! After a week I saw her again and she was progressing super well, she said that her and her kids read the whole pamphlet, the introduction again, and the testimonies of Joseph Smith and the other witnesses. She is so chosen! It was an amazing experience and its so awesome how if we are ready, the Lord puts us in the right places at the right times.
Another cool division that we did this week was with Elder Cowan! I got to be with my companion from the MTC for a day long. It was so cool teaching in the field together and seeing how far we have come in a year and a half haha.
So this week there was a stake activity for the young men and the stake presidency invited President Boswell, and me and my companion to come help, and speak for a minute. So President did an awesome talk and presentation, then invited us to share a small part. My companion shared about the Blessings that he has received from serving a mission and I shared about what things I did to prepare my self for the mission. I started off saying "if you think you're going to prepare yourself for the mission in the MTC, you're wrong" haha. Just a lot about service, and being worthy. It was awesome because the whole time I was talking, I just imagined the young men out there were Parker and his friends. The mission is amazing and it is soso necessary to prepared with time in advance. Start right now!! Its probably the most important thing I have ever done in my life!! Love you!! Have a great week!
