April 27, 2015

I have been transferred, I know you may have thought I was serving in Lima Peru, but they transferred me to Iraq! Haha my new zone is called Las Lomas de Huaycan. Las Lomas basically means "the hills" Its all hills. There is nothing plane at all. Not kidding. The part of my area that is lower down is chill, its super urbanized, but going up a little, all through out the other sectors, its all dirt and hills, and its amazing. Haha I love it. Ive got one week here and I'm already in love with the people and the area. Every day is a new adventure. My companion is from Paraguay, and he is Hilarious. Hahaha, so much funny stuff and cool experiences have already happened in this week. We were walking up a street to visit this way cool family, and we saw a dog up ahead and my comp was like, look, its my enemy. And I just thought he was joking but when we got closer it started barking and I didn't think it would do anything, the dogs always bark, but it nipped me on the back of my leg hahaha. Nothing happened but like it hurt yes, but it didnt go through the pants he just chomped me hard. And to my comp I was like what the heck man and he said "I told you he was my enemy" haha "never give your back to your enemy, be alert" so yeah now I know, never give your back to your enemy haha.

I got the packages from you and the Ward! So cool! Thank you! It was cool that the Ward gave me a little bag of sand and a rock, not like I don't already have enough right? haha just kidding, it is super cool. When I opened it up I was like wow look they sent me rock candy, and I gave my comp some sand in his hand and he tasted it and was like "mmm thats very good Elder.... mmm yummy" I was laughing so hard, then he spit it out and rinsed his mouth and told me that I am a clown. That's what we always say to each other, Eres un Payaso, You are a Clown. Another funny thing that happened, we were up above coming down from a lesson, and we turned the corner and saw a bus down maybe 40 yards and we were like "should we run for it or try waiting for another" We were waiting and then I just went, so we ran down and caught the bus and right as we got on... we looked behind and another one came right where we were haha, "You are a clown Elder" I was laughing so hard. This area is the bomb!

So here is a recap of my mission so far

Some shots of my area right now, the big mountain with out letters is what we see every day when we leave, in the bottom right corner you can see a blue building, we live in the first floor.
The writing on the mountain is of a little grade school here, you can see that writing from the free way that we pass a lot to go to tranfers and other reunions in La molina.

April 13, 2015

I am having an amazing time here in Peru and it is blessing my life so much to be here, along with the blessing to help other people see these blessings, and the love of God as well. We will be hold a baptism this week for a sweet young girl. She studies and works selling Ice Cream and Popsicle's with a little cart that she takes around. About 2 months ago she came up to us in the street and asked us who we were and what we do and the rest is history, we have been visiting with her and she has been coming to church and many of the activities and she has expressed to us how good she feels and how much she has felt the spirit in her everyday life now. She will be baptized on Saturday and she has already told us that when she turns 19 in august, that she wants to serve a mission too!

We are also working with F., even though he still doesn't want to be baptized, we are his best friends he has ever had, we visit him a lot and he has still been coming to the church every Sunday including General Conference. He also comes to our English classes every Friday night and loves it.

And we also have two other young men who have baptism dates for May. They are both way cool, One of them actually came and found us, he has friends in his University who are members and he said he wants to have that same trust and love with God, and also all of the blessings that he has seen his friends have. Other is the grandchild of a super sweet old lady who we always talk to out front of her store who gives us soda when its hot, he is 17 and has had some depression problems in the past few years but now is really shaping up and being able to control it more and more every time he learns about Jesus Christ our Savior in the church and when we visit. Its truly amazing, our recent converts are also doing really good. J. hasn't been able to come to church for a few weeks because of his work but he is reading the book of Mormon every day and says he loves the example of Nephi in his obedience and always choosing the right. And J. received the priesthood last week and was able to bless the sacrament this week! He did it perfectly! He is also doing a program through the church to help him get his degree and its going to bless his family so much! They have the cutest little white baby haha.

I have one more week until transfers and I'm 90% sure I'm leaving and I'm going to miss this area like crazy, Villa Hermosa is truly amazing! Anyways that's a little recap of whats going on in the life of Elder Lambson and I hope you are doing soo well. I pray for you always and I love you soo much!

Love you so much Mom! None of these things that I am accomplishing in my life would be possible with out you. I have shared many times in my lessons the strength that the Gospel can give to a single mom with three boys. I love you soo soo much Mom and you really are my biggest hero. I cant wait to talk to you this Mothers day! Thank you for being so amazing to me and all of those around you. You really are an angel.

March 29, 2015

It was a great week! We talked with a lot of people this week with strong opinions and really tried to shake our testimonies. There is so much corruption and badness that is partly from the apostasy and a lot from the bad experiences of people that have caused them to turn away from God and are so lost. Sometimes its so hard to think and wonder stuff like Why? How come? Why are some of these things necessary and why do so many people have to suffer? And I really don't know the answer. But I do know that God exists and is our Loving Heavenly Father, and he has a plan for every single one of us. Being that we encounter happiness in our time here on the earth, or if we are only here to be tested for a short period of time to receive a plenitude of joy when we pass to the life to come. I know that people can find happiness where ever they search for it here on the earth, but that there is a way to find a joy eternal, that is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God established the Gospel of Jesus Christ before the world was created, we knew we were going to have to suffer at times, but we also knew that we were going to have a Savior. Jesus is the light, the vine, the water of life, the true path. We have the promise that if we follow the savior, we WILL find this happiness, but like everything, we are free to choose. And just like we receive happiness by following Christ and the Commandments of God, we are also free to NOT choose this path. But as we are free to choose the choices, we are not free to choose the consequences...

The mission is hard, Im not going to lie, we are talking about the salvation of many people and sometimes its so difficult to think ¨why would someone reject this?¨ but everything has its time. And God is the only one who really knows everything, we just have the responsibility to live each day to the fullest, learn as much as we can, take advantage of every moment, love God with all our hearts, and love our neighbors just as we love our selves, and gain all of the experiences that come our way, whether they be good or bad, they will help us to Progress. Being a leader here in the mission, training a new elder who is very different than me, and also leading my district have been huge blessings.

I have always liked to be a leader of those who surround me, but now I am beginning to really understand what it means to follow.... Follow the example of the Savior. He didn't come to the world to be served, but to Serve. The real path to finding happiness in this life is forgetting about yourself, and serving others. I love our Savior and I am so grateful for his example in everything good in this life. I love Easter time to be able to celebrate his resurrection. He really does live. He loves us. I know it with all my heart. I am so grateful for your love and support out here in the field, I ask you to keep praying for these precious souls that I have been so blessed with under my care, and I invite you to remember The Lord in All things, All times, and in All places.

I got all of your stuff (for my Birthday) thank you so much it was awesome! I shared almost everything with Ward members, my comp, and other Elders. I had a great birthday thank you! I almost forgot to tell you I also got to baptise a way cool investigator that the sisters have been teaching. Her name is C and she is 21, super sweet, and super nice. It was a great baptism, her parents were baptised just a few weeks ago. The sisters asked her who she wanted to baptise her and she said "Elder Claxon" hahaha. I love this Ward, I'm probably going to have to leave the next transfer but I really am enjoying the time here.

Other things for you mom, my comp wants to know if you could send him a little hymn book in english, I could go for some more dental flossers (the little sticks) and also I wanted you to say hi to some people for me. ......................
Thanks for everything mom, I love you so much! Have a great week! Happy Easter!
