Last Letter Home From Peru 6/20/16

t's been such an amazing journey. It has been so so special to serve here in Lima Peru and know these people who are now so dear to me. Today I was able to visit my areas and many of the people who I was able to teach in these past two years and it was so sweet to feel their love and care for me. I have been able to come closer to feeling the true love of God for everyone of his children and for the perfect love that Christ showed for us as he Atoned for our sins. I have been able to serve with all my heart might mind and strength and break the skin of my knees every night praying for each and every one of these great brothers and sisters of mine.

As my mission concludes I feel perfectly content with the work that God has given me the chance to perform, for the opportunity to serve him, and for the blessing to become more like him. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives, it has definitely changed mine. I know that in this dark and fallen world that we live in, Christ is our light. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God and that He guides it through a chosen prophet and seer and 12 apostles. We are guided by God. I know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God and that they are our compasses that guide us to pace and calmness. I know that Joseph Smith saw a pillar of light brighter than the sun, and that his prayer was answered by God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. I love my savior and I am so grateful for the blessing to serve him for these past two years. Obedience to the commandments is how we can not simply live, but truly prosper by the hand of God every day. I know these things are true, and I know that if I always remember them and put them in practice, my testimony will continue to grow stronger and stronger. I know these things with all my heart, and I share this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Elder Lambson :)

June 13, 2016

So I forgot to explain the pictures last week. I got sick again, I was in bed for a day with a migrain. It was the worst headache I have ever had and I couldnt do anything. My companion took care of me, and the pension brought us food but I couldnt even eat. I woke up feeling so bad in the morning, but all though I felt so bad we couldnt not go to a service we had planned with a new family we are teaching, I worked up enough strength to get out of bed go barely to the street, we got a taxi and went to house, I tried helping but I ended up just out of it on their couch while my companion helped for a few hours. I felt like I was going to throw up when we were leaving but we managed to get to the room in another taxi and I just crashed all day until the next morning. The project was super cool, we are helping them put in a second floor inside of their house, but its withe metal bars, it reminded me a lot of my eagle project. They are a family of three, and they are so great, they recognize the spirit when we have taught them and they know that the restoration is true. We were able to help them again this saturday and I was able to actually help haha. We finished the bars and started puting in the wood, it looks super cool and it is going to help them have so much more space in their home. (I will take a picture this week) they went to stake conference this weekend and it was a powerhouse. They loved the messages. Sandy, and her daughters Ariana and Kimberly also went to the conference and they loved it. Their baptism is this weekend :)

This week we also had a very special visit..... We met and got to shake hands with Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the 12. It was soooo coool. He is awesome. The church really is guided by God through the Prophet and the 12 apostles. They are chosen by the Lord himself and I know that they are his special witnesses. It was an amazing training and I felt the spirit so strong.

So its my last week in the mission. Its a bitter sweet moment. I cant really explain how I feel knowing its my last week as a full time missionary, but I know the work never stops. All that I have learned in these two years are going the foundation of a happy life being anxiously engaged always in a good cause. Im going to continue sharing my testimony, continue to invite others to come unto christ, and continue living the commandments of God being a witness of him at all time in all things and in all places. A city on a hill can not be hidden.

I love you guys so much! See you soon :)

June 6, 2016

This week we went to the temple. It was a great experience. I was able to meditate and reflect upon the great blessings in my life and what is to come. I read my blessing and felt a great peace to know that the Lord has blessed me chapter after chapter in my life. Now the time is coming to start new chapters and I have the Lords promise that if I complete with my part, He will always be there to carry me and open doors that I wouldn't be able to imagine by myself. 20 years old and I have had some of the most amazing experiences, now to imagine "what else does He have prepared for me?". Its mind blowing. But I know that if I take advantage of everything God gives me and make the most of each and every experience, He will continue to trust me and give me exactly what I need to progress, and continue to help those around me. He is always willing to give, but He invites us to complete our part first so that we can progress. It's all thanks to Him. See you soon!! I love you so much, thank you so much for all of your prayers, love and support.

May 31, 2016

I don't remember if I told you or not but a few of our investigators from my last ward have been baptized in these past few weeks.  One boy is 9 and was baptized the week after I left, I was so happy, he wanted me to go back to baptize him, unfortunately at the end we weren't able to travel, but my companion told me everything went well :) Then this weekend B was baptized :) We found her contacting a building and it turns out that her mom was a less active member for over 20 years, she is now rescued and her daughter is a member too :)

The work is going great here. Like I said we have half the area full city, but there is another part that is also super busy, but a little more similar to the rest of my areas. Of course not AS receptive just because of the life style and movement of the place. But we do have a small family of three with baptismal dates for the 18th of June :) The mom and her two daughters, They are doing so well :)

We talk to at least 15 people every day on the streets or knocking doors, and you really do have to be creative sometimes haha. Every person has a whole life behind them, something that makes them who they are, we have to find a connection with each person we talk to, everyone has the light of Christ within them, we just have to help them recognize it, and most importantly... feel it. Nothing happens by coinsidense. (I need to study spelling again when I get home) (and grammer..) anyways. Better said, God always knows where we need to be and when. It is not by chance that our P day was changed (We are going to the temple today tuesday). It was programmed by God. Yesterday we met one of the best profile investigators you can imagine. He came up to us in the street and we talked for a minute, he said he was feeling a spiritual emptiness and had dedicated his day off of work (that was specifically that day) to look for the truth and find answers to his questions. He was going to all of the churches he knew close to his house and asking who he knew were priests, or pastors. He felt an impression to go up a street to the home of another friend where he had already gone, but decided to go anyways, and chose to take a different path than normal, that is just when he saw us walking down the street and we began to talk. We told him we could go to his house at that moment, so we went. He told us his life story, he let it all out and we shared the plan of salvation. He said we were sent of God to answer his prayers and that we had answered many of his questions, and also answered many questions that he didn't even know he had. It is such a blessing to see how God works miracles and how if we follow the spirit he will put us exactly where we need to be to bless the lives of his children.
The spirit is so real! I love you!! Have an amazing week :)

May 23, 2016 - One month and 3 days until his Homecoming Talk

So this week we taught in the 7th story of a 16 story building. We are contacting lots and lots of people sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ so that they can have a better life. There are some who are prepared, and some who are humble enough to allow them selves to be prepared. You could say we are "sifting through the mud to find the gold." There are some great people here. This week we talked with many many new people and we were able to take out many visits to return, we arrived to many doors and many were not able to receive us, but we keep inviting, sharing, and searching. There are people who the Lord is preparing and if we show him that we really want to find them he will put them in our path.

This week we met a lady and her 2 daughters, they are awesome, they are a true miracle and proof that the Lord is guiding us. We were able to teach them twice this week and help them understand the importance of gospel in our lives and they have a baptismal date for the 11th of June! Like coach Day taught us we have to have URGENCY! Every second counts, you have to give it all until the final whistle!!

May 16, 2016

Half of the area is in Surquillo, and the other half in Mira Flores. Its on the coast, its the last area of the Lima East mission on the border of the Lima South Mission. I don't have pictures of my new area yet haha. My companion is cool! His name is Elder Betancourt, he is from Bolivia. He has 6 weeks in the mission and I have 6 weeks left. Haha all week we were making that joke to the members, he would say "I have 6 weeks in the mission." and I would say "I also have 6 weeks in the mission.... until I go home." haha.

I love the area it is soo cool!! The ward needs a little work though. President had come here the week before to speak in there sacrament and by what my companion says he burned them pretty hard haha but I'm here doing all I can to build the relationship between the members and the missionaries so that together we can find everyone who is ready to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is so much potential here! We have a goal to find all of the business professionals that we can, to be able to teach those who will make an impact on the church and help it to continue growing. Its been fun haha. A little nerve racking at first but we were able to find a few this week and it was awesome. We taught a family in the 3rd floor of a 10 story building this week, the first time that I have had to pass through security, and take an elevator to teach a lesson! It's awesome though! It really helps you to take a look at things with a different view point and I'm grateful for the new blessings, and also the new trials as you can imagine haha.

We are working with a few atheists as well and it has been so interesting, and so powerful to be able to testify that there really is an all knowing and all powerful supreme being who created us, and even more wonderful is that he actually knows each one of us personally and loves us more than we are capable of comprehending. Mind blowing. I love it.
Adventure is out there. Have a great week :)

May 9, 2016 48 days until Elder Lambson's Homecoming Talk

This was such a great week working with Elder Chota. He is from Tingo, Chachapoya, las amazonas. He was kicked by a horse when he was about 15 and cancer began to grow in his leg. Due to the rapidness of the growth the only option left was to amputate. He gets around just fine with his one leg and his crutch.
He has been living here in Lima with his brother and he has always had the desire to serve a full time mission ever since he was converted in 2011 when he was 16. This week with the permission of the mission president and the stake president he was set apart as an elder and worked with my companion and I all week long. Depending on our informs he will be able to start his papers to head out for 2 years. He has done an awesome job!!! He is such a trooper, he has worked hard and hasn't shown one sign of weakness or lack of self confidence. Its been a great privilege to be able to work with such a great example like him!!
My companion Elder Moreno from Mexico is also a great example and a dear friend, he will be staying here in Universal ward and will receive a new companion as the zone leader here in Santa Anita. As for me... :) Im headed out to finish the training of a new elder just starting the mission in an area called Surquillo, Surco. Its one of the top 3 richest areas in the mission haha. Elder Moreno said that the first time in his life that he ever saw a Ferrari, was in this area haha. So Im super excited. I know that its going to be an amazing experience and I know that all that I have learned in these 22 months is going to be necessary to strengthen this ward and this new Elder who is going to be my las companion in the mission.

We had an awesome week!!

This week we found out some awesome news, we have a young woman with a baptismal date that is progressing so well, she is so intelligent and understands so well. Apart from knowing, she has also felt that this gospel is true. We taught her with her mom yesterday who we have met a couple of times and has also come to church. She told us that she knew the church when she was 16 and that she was baptized too! She had fallen away for college and relationships and then got involved with other religions. But now she understands better the church and has found the true path again. It is such a miracle that now the difference between her and her daughter is that now they will be doing it together. They are going to strengthen each other and its going to be so awesome! She will be baptized on the 28th.

It was awesome talking to you guys on mothers day! I love you so so much!! The Gospel is real!!! It makes bad men good, good men better, and truly changes human nature! Let Him work miracles in your life!

May 8th - Mothers Day Call

Had an amazing video chat with Elder Lambson and his companions on Mothers Day.  He sounded and looked great.  It was neat to talk to his companion Elder Moreno and Elder Chota who was on special assignment the past 2 weeks with these full time Elders.  Elder Lambson's grandpa Linneer was at the house so he got to say hello too.  Very grateful for modern technology.

May 2, 2016

ML was baptized!! :) Her son baptized her and it was sooo awesome!! I said she had known the Gospel for 4 years but its really only for about 2. But its still amazing that after 2 years of knowing the gospel and seeing all of her children be baptized now she is finally going to receive the same blessings and what she shared in her testimony was just how important her kids are for her and now she recognizes that she needs to be together for ever, she shared about the importance of eternal life and that really is what we strive for. If we don't have eternal life after we die, what does anything else really matter?

L and her daughter weren't able to be baptized this week because she couldn't get work off Saturday, but to avoid that problem we are going to have her baptism on Sunday after church :) pray for her please.

This is Elder Chota, he is from the Amazon, he is our companion for a week as he continues to prepare for his full time mission. He is such an inspiration.

April 18, 2016

It was a great week full of lots of inspiration. I loved the feelings I felt in the temple, and the special thoughts I received preparing for the Zone meeting and participating in the multi zone.

We are very happy that we were able to see the zones first fruits this week with a baptism and a rescue. Its a great start, although it was in the third week of the transfer. The zone is just on the edge of exploding, we need that little extra push. The multi-zone helped us to have fresh ideas that we are applying in our area and we are inviting the rest to do as well. The elders and sisters are doing well and working hard, we have complete assurance that we will see the fruits of our labor very soon.
This week we saw a miracle. We received a reference by text message. We went to the house to find her but only her aunt was home, so we contacted her aunt and we took out an appointment with her for Saturday. We returned Saturday and asked for her aunt, not home, so we asked for the original reference again and she was there. It was perfect that we took the visit out with her aunt at just that time because we were able to find Vilma. She is awesome, we taught her and she came to church the next day. Very prepared. This work is amazing. The spirit really does guide you.

Elder Lambson :)

QUESTIONS ASKED TO ELDER LAMBSON:

How have you felt the blessings of the Lord in your life? In absolutely everything. I have been so humbled. I know that he lives.

What's your favorite thing about your mission so far? Seeing the progress of the people that we find, seeing the changes that the Lord makes in them from when we first meet them to after they have revived the light.

How are your feet/shoes doing with all the walking? Its such a blessing that my shoes have stayed in such good shape! After all of the walking, all of the stairs and hills. Its a testimony that quality counts.

Can you buy most things that you need? Yes, everything. There are little stores on almost every street, and there are also some big super markets in almost every zone.
What exercising do you guys do every day?
My favorite exercise to do in the morning is play soccer with the zone, we try to play at least twice a week. And when we don't play soccer I do my own exercises like run in place, push ups, sit ups, etc.

WHAT'S YOUR RELEASE DATE?! Good question. The 21st of June I believe,  I will  be getting home Saturday the 25th.

April 12, 2016

We went to the temple this week. It was beautiful. The zone is doing really really good!! We are super united and we are all working hard and pressing forward together. We did some service this week sanding walls and painting, and we are playing soccer in the mornings with the Elders!

We had a really great week finding new investigators in our area this week. One is the girlfriend of a member who lives in the south of Lima, they met each other through work and he has been sharing the gospel with her. They went out the other week and stopped by the temple, he told her to pray and think about the blessings that God has given her in her life. That night she had a dream that God was inviting her to go up beautiful white stairs and she felt that this was the right path she needs to take right now in her life.

Another family we met by saying hi while headed to another visit, we started talking to them and they told us that their brother had a stroke and he was bedridden but in the house. We gave him a Priesthood blessing and we were able to share the plan of salvation with the family :)

Another is a family of 5, the parents are married, and the 3 children are teenagers, open and willing to change their lives. They are the aunt, uncle, and cousins of a young man who accompanies us. His grandma died a few weeks ago and has opened the families eyes to receive the missionaries and the Gospel after many years.

God is blessing us so much, and at the same time blessing his sons and daughters here giving them this amazing opportunities to listen to the Gospel and have the blessing to repent and be clean! We are visiting many families here and are praying for their progress.

God knows his children, everyone can be a chosen, but the beautiful thing is the timing. If we are in tune with the Spirit, God will allow us and lead us to those who he has prepared in the specific time that they are ready. Thats the great trick of the mission. Being in the right place at the right time through the guidance of God. We have to be his humble, worthy, and prepared servants in every moment! Let the spirit guide you!! Have an amazing week!

April 4, 2016 - 77 days until Elder Lambson's release date

My new companion is from Chihuahua, Mexico! His name is Elder Moreno. He is so cool haha. We are working together for a week now and we have already seen so many miracles. He came here for an emergency transfer just 3 weeks before the transfer, so both of us are learning the area haha. But the Lord is definitely guiding us, we found 9 new investigators to teach this week and they are all so solid!

We got to go back to Vitarte on Saturday to see D's Baptism. She is such an amazing convert. Wow, I'm never going to forget her.

I loved conference. It was extraordinary. I felt like the messages were EXACTLY what I needed. The reaction was awesome in general conference,(to the announcement of a new Temple)  everyone yelped with happiness for the new temple. The current temple is on the east, I'm pretty sure the 2nd one will be in the north.

March 28, 2016

This was such an awesome week :) We went to the temple with a group of recent converts and some less actives that we were able to rescue. I have been to the temple a few times before but this week we were able to actually be witnesses of the baptisms and it was the coolest thing ever! Two that went from the group were 2 who I had baptized just a month ago. And then seeing them be baptized again, but for another person (the dead) in the temple was so amazing. Such a miracle and such a testimony builder to be in there with them.

Jesus was baptized this week! :) His story is so awesome!!! One day we were walking down the street and I saw him, and I thought "That kid looks exactly like my recent convert from Villa Hermosa a year ago". So then a few days later we saw him again and I talked to him and he was just like "Hey Elders" haha it turns out that he is his Brother!! He lives here in vitarte but he had been going to church in his brothers ward for a month already. It turns out that he was receiving the discussions from the Elders there because they didn't know he lived over here. So we got that all sorted out and we were able to start him attending church over here and he was received by the ward so well. He loved it and was already participating in Seminary haha. We finished up the lessons yesterday and he ended up getting baptized on Saturday!! We made the arrangements possible so that his older brother (my convert from a year ago who we helped get married and baptized) could come and baptize him! It was sooo cool!! You could feel the spirit so strong to be in there with them. It was definitely one of the coolest experiences I've had in the mission. God is the one directing this amazing work and he knows where he needs us. They are such awesome converts!!

I have transfers!!! I'm going to what most likely will be my last area. I'm still going to be a zone leader, now in the zone of Santa Anita. My ward is called Univeral. It's right across the freeway from Villa Hermosa!! There is a huge chapel here (Seriously, huge! 3 stories) when I served in Villa Hermosa we would always point to the chapel and say "thats our church, have you heard of it?" haha. I'm stoked!!

I'm going to miss Elder Carter like crazy he has been such an awesome companion and we have worked so so hard together with the zone and in the area. I'm going to miss my area we have had so much success and so many more people who are close to baptism. (one this week :) But guess who is coming to replace me? Elder Quada! Who I was with in Moyopampa! They are going to be so awesome together! Im stoked.

I love you so much!! Be strong!! Im praying for Joe!! Have an amazing week!

March 21, 2016

I (his mom) received an amazing email from Elder Lambson in reply to his Birthday, WOW, can't believe he is 20!

Monday- Super chill Pday. In our zone there aren't a whole lot of Elders who like to play sports unfortunately so the zone preference is just watch a movie and relax. I'd rather play sports but it's fine by me to just chill sometimes to :) We had an awesome family night with a single mom and a school teacher and she seriously is one of the best investigators you could ask for. She has such a true desire to change her life and become a new person. She has her baptismal date for the second of April. She is receiving a lot of help from the ward and already has a good relationship with many members. We found her contacting on the street.

Tuesday- We had a super cool district meeting, the district leaders did their thing, awesome training, and then us and the assistants pumped the zone up together big time and we put a new zone goal for each area to have 2 baptisms in the month of april and 2 rescues. We are in some of the best wards in the mission and we needed to step things up as a zone. We had an awesome day working hard with a cool return missionary who accompanied us until about 5. He had to go to the bank afterwards and he told us about how his home owner was telling him to get rid of his pet bunny, he had to take it to another members house. We offered to take it for him and he was very grateful because he didn't have much time. So yeah no big deal, we are walking down the busy street with a HUGE bunny (inside of its cage) and then we hear a whistle, we look behind and a police officer is coming up to talk with us! I had no idea what to do, I I thought "is it illegal to have a bunny like this?"
so he comes up to us and says "Elders!" haha "Im a member from huachipa" (a near by ward) "I want you to go visit a family I know here." What a relief! He gave us an awesome reference of a family of 8!! Blessing come from service :)

Wednesday- We left with an awesome recent convert who always helps the elders. We contacted a lot of people and had quite a few lessons. We went and found the reference of the police officer and wow they need the gospel so much! They let us right in and stopped everything to listen to us. It turns out that one of the sons in addicted to internet games and was making really poor decisions and treating his family bad, we got there in the perfect time to be able to answer their prayers and help their son. We taught a great lesson about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it blesses the families. They made a big change after visiting them 2 times this week and they came to church sunday! :)

Thursday- Another day similar to Wednesday we taught 6 lessons with investigators and less actives found some new people as well. We had a cool family night with a part member family and they bought us Chinese food haha.

Friday- We did a division with a near by group of elders, Elder Argüello from ecuador came with me, we had a really good day we taught some awesome lessons and then a family at the end of the day bought us pollo a la brasa which is one of the best fast foods here haha its kind of a big deal, its just really good chicken with a lot of fries and lots of sauces. I did 2 baptismal interviews, the two youths were very prepared and ready to be baptized :)

Saturday- My Birthday! Haha it went well! The pension made me a super cool cake, we celebrated there with the other elders and her family. It was simple and sweet. My pension is so nice. We keep saying that we are going to Machu Pichu together when I finish my mission at the end of June. We had a good day we worked our bums off, we found a couple of news to teach as well. We gave a blessing to the mom of a recently reactivated youth, who we are taking out with us to reactivate, she had hurt her back moving bricks in their humble little house. It was such an amazing feeling being out there in the middle of the pueblo in their little house with out a roof, giving a priesthood blessing under the night sky. Very spiritual experience. Then we went to the church for mission correlation that was at the church and we got to see part of the dance festival.

Sunday- A great way to finish off the week!! We had 8 investigators come to church.one iss going to be baptized this saturday (he has an awesome story I'll tell you next week), D came, part of the new family that I told you about and the family that live up on the top of the mountain that we found last week came again! :)

I love giving everything I can in this amazing work. I know that I am nothing alone, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Im so grateful for the amazing experiences that God is giving me and I am so grateful for the blessing that I have had to make changes in my life, and to become a better person. Its not about me out here, its about the other people who are changed by what I do! The mission really is incredible and these two years are helping me so so much! The gospel is amazing and I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ!!

March 14, 2016

I had a great week this week!! We had another zone meeting and it was the best one yet!! We were planning on doing it this week, but the assistants told us that it had to be last week so we were obedient and prepared it all in one day! We were up until 12 last Monday haha but we were able to get it all ready. Tuesday morning we are there and the sister training leaders gave their little part, and they ended up using like half of the stuff that my comp and I were going to talk about!! So we had to wing a little bit of it but its okay because in the Gospel when you have to "wing it" you just need to trust in the Holy Ghost :) so thats what we did and WOW it turned out to be even better than what we were planning and it was exactly what the zone needed! The participation of each Elder was awesome and it was such a spiritual boost! We talked about the attributes of Jesus Christ, things we can control things we cant control, being diligent, about the zone and our indicators from January and February, and we talked about the conversion of the Anti-Lehi-Nephites. We finished with everyone writing down something that was stopping them from being a better person or a better missionary and we "buried" it in a jar of dirt. It was super cool, very symbolic as to "burying our weapons" and becoming better missionaries.

As for the rest of the week, we had Elder Lynn G. Robbins from the presidency of the 70 come talk to our mission and it was soo cool!! But we lost a day of work because it was in the afternoon, so we worked even harder the other days of the week to make up for the day that we lost and we ended up having one of our best weeks! We found a new family of five that came to church this week because the guys sister is a member from another ward, she came to church with them and then we took out a lesson for later in the day, we get to the base of a hill side and we call him like he told us to.... HE LITERALLY LIVES IN THE LAST HOUSE ON THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN!! But its all good because they all want to be baptized. Haha I love the mission so much! This is the True Gospel of our Savoir Jesus Christ!

My comp Elder Carter is a stud, the zone is going super well, we are working towards our goals and achieving them! Everything is going awesome and we have the eyesight only on the the glory of the Lord! I Love you so much, have a great week! Be grateful for all of your many blessings! :)

March 7, 2016

Spiritual experience of the week-

We are seeing many amazing things here in the area. Yesterday we felt the spirit so strong teaching a less active family the last lesson so that the mom and daughter could be rescued. (the dad was rescued last week) I was sharing my testimony with them and I just felt over come with happiness and I told them, we really do love you guys so much, we are so so happy for this great change that you have been able to see and all it took was to recognize things that you already knew. It is so important to treat less actives like investigators and just give them all the love you can. Unfortunately a big problem we see with less actives is that it turns into a routine with Mormon message videos etc, but if you satisfy their needs WITH the 5 missionary lessons, they will come back soo strong! We are planning on going to the temple with this family the 24th along with our Ward mission leader and some other recent converts and rescues to do work for the dead, and this family that I'm talking about is taking the classes to be sealed here in a couple of months!!! :) When we diligently do what we are supposed to do in the Lords way, not our way, he will always bless us more than we can even imagine!

February 29, 2016

This was an amazing week. I love my trainer Elder Balderrama, since day one we have been working together and even up until now we are seeing miracles together, even though he is already home haha. He made a huge influence here in vitarte when he was here in this same area almost 6 months ago. One of his most faithful converts was a nice older lady who was baptized in October. She was diagnosed with cancer just a little bit before she was baptized but continued faithful to God and to the church every single week by attending, and enduring. Mid December she became very week and was put into the hospital. She kept fighting but eventually the cancer beat her and she passed away towards the end of January. During this whole process of learning from the missionaries, her baptsim, and her endurance to the end, her two daughters and grandson were always there supporting her, but never felt so strongly the need to make the actual commitment for them selves. They had a mighty change of heart at the passing of their mom. The older daughter changed other commitments that had been occuring on Sundays so that she could be able to attend with her son, and the younger daughter who was taking extra classes on Sundays dropped them completely to complete with her moms desires that she attends church as well. They saw the need to put their lives in harmony with Gods will, and chose to humble their hearts by following not only the footsteps of their mother, but also the footsteps of the Savior. They received us in their home, they completed with their reading assignments, and they accepted the challenge to be baptized. This weekend the three of them were able to complete with that duty to God and received the remission of their sins through the sacred ordnance of baptism. They are such an inspiration, and such an amazing example of faith in trusting the ways of the lord, and in trusting in his timing. The Lord knows his children, and he knows who he sends to teach them. It has been such an honor to work with this family and it has been so special to work side by side once again with my trainer Elder Balderrama.
