January 26, 2015

You guys are awesome. I love you so much! I've been thinking a lot and this life really is a test. We are sent here to be tested and tried and over come them, many fall, but those who keep strong are the ones that receive all of the blessings that God really does have for us. In a way, its kind of a thinning out of the week and the strong, God has great things in store for us, but only those who really do endure to the end can obtain all that he has in store for us. There is a lot more that I have been thinking this is just a small part. But I know that the Plan of Salvation is true and how important the Atonement of Jesus Christ is in our lives. More than anything we are here to test our FAITH.

Everything is going so great right now, we are truly teaching people right now who have been prepared and humbled to accept and understand this message and we have 4 people who have baptismal dates for this month of February, and also 4 or 5 others who are close to having a baptismal date too. I know that these things are true and really are of God, and I am so happy to help others know these things too!
Love you guys! Have an amazing week! Don't forget your prayers and to read your scriptures!

Oh and Ive got transfers tomorrow! I'll let you guys know haha, Im pretty sure I'm staying here in Villa Hermosa (beautiful village)

January 19, 2015

I love you guys! This has been such a cool week! We are teaching so many people,  I would love to tell you about each one individually but we have 25 lessons or more every week and like 20 new investigators! The biggest challenge we have is maintaining all of the people who want to meet with us. There are also lots of other churches here though, one of the funniest things that happened this week, we were visiting an investigator in his house and he was telling us how he really likes the way we teach and how we really care about the people we don't just throw information at them, and right when he was saying that some other church nocked on the door and was like "hey do you want to know the truth!? take this paper and then go to our website" haha.

The work is amazing, my testimony grows every single day. The members are so awesome and I love joking around with all of them, the investigators are asking such cool questions and I am dropping so much doctrine on them and the scriptures are coming to my mind and we are just helping the heck out of these people, (literally) haha. I can really feel the Holy Ghost working through us to touch these peoples hearts and I am really seeing changes in people. We have some really great investigators right now and we have also been reactivating lots of less actives! I am loving every single day its amazing!

Pictures, you wanted to see my bathroom? and its summer here there are lot of puppies and kitties, it was so cute there was a little white puppy and a little white kitty the cat didn't like the dog though haha. Until next week!

January 12, 2015

This week was amazing! I got to baptize another sister from the area of the sister missionaries. Her name is L. She reminded me a lot of C. (this first sister I baptized in Cmpoy) L. has 3 kids and they are really... energetic we could say haha. Her ex lives in Chillé so she was living with her parents but basically all alone with her 3 kids, but now she has a whole new family of all of the amazing Ward members to help her and be her friend always. The Sisters asked her who she wanted to baptize her and she said one of the Missionaries, they said which one latino or gringo, and she chose the gringo haha. So I have been very blessed to be here in the Ward with the sister missionaries and I have had the blessing to baptize two very sweet young ladies.

This area is soo cool! I loved Campoy but I think I like this area a lot more! The people are humble here, and we are finding soo many people that are really happy to accept us and our message.

I am also soo happy because I am understanding everything, I'm talking with everyone. I am leading the lessons now, I was like, why not haha I'm just going to start leading, and I really surprised myself but I am actually doing really good and we are working together awesome as a companionship! We have 17 new investigators this week who are all super awesome! Now the only trick is maintaining all of them and continuing to find and teach them to have them progress and soon be baptized!

I am learning so much about the Gospel too and I am reading deep gospel doctrine books in spanish and actually understanding and learning lots and lots of stuff that builds my testimony and also helps me help other people. Started from the bottom now we here!!

To answer your questions, I sleep on the bottom bunk, the bathroom is back behind the beds on the left according to that photo (he sent last week), the bathroom is huge and really nice haha we have a toilet, urinal and a giant hot shower. There are some awesome peruvian souvenirs and stuff like the chess set so next time we go in to the shopping places I will get one. I'm sending a package this week with lots of stuff!

I am so happy to hear that everyone is doing good I love our family and our friends! It is so cool to hear about everything going on, I am so happy to know about the Plan of Salvation in our lives! The Gospel is the best. I love you guys so much!!!

Some people I want you to say hi for me are..... (I will email them to let them know). Also say Hi to Susan! I saw a dog that looked like Max the other day.

January 5, 2015

Wow 2015, crazy how good of a year 2014 was with all the stuff that happened all of the amazing things, it was definitely an awesome year, probably the best one I've ever had. But I'm also looking forward for this year 2015, I'll be here in Peru the whole year!! A different type of amazing things are going to come to pass here.

This first week of the year has already been amazing. I got to perform a Baptism for one of the investigators of the Hermanas in the Ward (Sister Missionaries) and the little lady was soo nervous, timid and shy. It was the cutest thing. When I baptized her she grabbed her nose with the wrong hand and just fell back, so I didnt have time to change it and so I just pushed her all the way under and held her tight so she wouldnt fall haha it was great. She had wanted the Bishop to do the Baptism but he couldn't so they asked me if I would do it and I was like what if she doesn't like me??  But they said she was happy to have a gringo do it because they are handsome and have pretty eyes haha. She was also happy after because she said she was scared of the water but "he held me strong and saved me from drowning" haha.

I have also had the oprotunity to give some blessings and it just an amazing feeling to use the Priesthood to help people in so many different ways that you cant find any where else in the world accept for in the restored true church of Jesus Christ. Pretty amazing stuff. We are visiting A LOT of less actives here in this Ward and we also have some cool investigators like this one guy who is 18, he can speak English, and is investigating 3 churches right now and he has some super deep questions and he is really happy with us because we have been able to answer all of them and also we are inviting him to pray to know for himself and feel that these things are true.

So cool to hear about all of the great things that are happening back at home I am really happy for you guys! Keep choosing the right and always trust in the lord!

Scripture for the week! D&C 50:24 that talks about the light that we recieve from God, and I like to compare it to our testimonies and to a fire. What happens to a fire if we dont continue to feed it? It dies out, same with our testimonies, this scripture shares how when we recieve the gospel we receive the light of God and if we use it to our advantage doing the right things we recieve more and more light until the day we die. The wood that we add to our fire are the small and simple things that we do everyday, our prayers every morning and night, personal and in family, really studying the scriptures, fasting, service, going to the Temple. By doing these things we mantain our flame and mantain this light from God, and this light won't only guide and bless our lives, but also the lives of those who surround us.

I love you guys so much! Have an amazing week!
